To Thee My Master I Offer My Prayer
Author Unknown

Feed me, water and care for me and when the day's work is done provide me with a shelter, a clean dry bed and a stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort.
Talk to me, Your voice often means as much to me as the
reins.
Pet me sometimes, that I may serve you the more gladly and learn to love you.
Do not jerk the reins, do not whip me when going uphill.
Never strike, beat or kick me when I not understand what you want, but give me a chance to understand you.
Watch me, and if I fail to do your bidding, see if something is not wrong with my harness or feet.
Examine my teeth when I do not eat, I may have an ulcerated tooth, and you know, it is very painful.
Do not tie my head in an unnatural position or take away my best defense against flies and mosquitoes by cutting off my tail or limit my range of vision by blinders so that I am frightened by what I cannot see.
And finally, O my master, when my youthful strength is gone, do not turn me out to starve or freeze, or sell me to some cruel owner to be slowly, tortured and starved to death: but do thou, my master, take my life in the kindest way and your God will reward you here and hereafter.
You will not consider me irreverent if I ask this in the name of Him who was born in a stable. Amen

...the horses prayer gives insight to all God's creatures no matter how big or small...it's a beautiful prayer...I like how you are engaged w/your animals- but it must be hard to give them up and sell ...I realize this is the way of farm life- but I would grow so attached to them (except for maybe those pesky chickens who would chase me to peck at my legs when I was little and trying to feed them!) I would love to take a week and spend it w/you - you could teach me so many things- your life w/your family is rich and blessed.
p.s. I would pay you for my tutoring lessons!!!haha- and just know you may have to go over things once or twice or maybe way MORE-
Love you- Aunt Dona xo

We do get attached to the animals (I'm not fond of chickens either!) and that does make it hard to sell them but if we never sold any we'd be overrun!! If we know we are going to sell some of the babies we try not to get very attached to them.
No need to pay, we'd have as much fun as you! And we wouldn't mind repeating things!!
