I snapped this picture of Ashwin the other day and it just looked like a book cover. Whisper was the first name that popped into my head and soon a story followed.
The story is about an abused mare and the girl who tries to help her move beyond her fear and learn to trust again.
So what do you think?

Sounds interesting. Is this a long story or short? Did you just write an overview or an outline or did you already write the entire thing?

I'm think it will be more of a medium length...enough to stand alone but not as long as my other books.
I have just over 200 words written, about five pages. So I only have the beginning written, but I know where I want to end up. I love working with troubled horses and have been wanting to write a story about a troubled horse. This picture was the inspiration I needed. Ashwin doesn't have the same problems as the horse in the story, but he has some fear and distrust issues.

Sorry, I have 2000 words written...not 200 :)

I witnessed a real-life "story" about a horse named Magic and the girl who gained his trust. I've always thought it should be written

Thank you Aunt Dona! No, this picture was taken with my new camera. I love Ashwin's eyes. This story seems to be flowing really well for me. I'm at 3100 words right now!

Keep your eyes peeled for another excerpt soon!
Ashwin is special and I think he will be one of the more challenging horses I have worked with, but his sweet, gentle nature makes it worth working to get him to trust. He's much better than when we first go him and he is gaining confidence from watching Abby, the mare he came with, learn to communicate with me.
