First Lambs of the Year!

We had twin lambs born on Sunday, the first of the year. The white one is a ram lamb but I'm not sure if the brown one is ewe or ram. I'm glad the sheep waited to start lambing until this cold streak was over. We've had weather in the 30's the few days so it was perfect weather for getting little lambs on their feet. I got some good pictures of them this afternoon and our alpaca, Chico.

While I was outside with the camera I went back to the pasture where Grandpa, Dad and the boys were splitting firewood. They had quite a pile done already.

The kittens were banished to the goat barn a few weeks ago as they were beginning to cause problems in the house. They are still very friendly and seem to be enjoying their outside world.

We took Belle, one of the goats to a friends house yesterday to be bred so we just have two, Shiloh and Libby, right now. Libby should be kidding any time. Shiloh still has a little bit to go yet. Belle will be due about five months from now.

We would love to have you visit!! It's been a long time.
I'm feeling good...my back rarely bothers me. I had my ct scan done on the 30th of December and I go next week to see my doctor...hopefully I can get the brace off at that time and find out when I can climb back on my horses. I'll let you all know how the appointment goes.

You're not a bit scared are you to get back on a horse...? That would be a bit scary for me! My elderly lady friend (soon people will be referring to me as elderly- ''my elderly aunt dona'' haha)) had a special surgery to straighten up- she is 75yrs old- and she has a soft corset vel cro type of brace she has to wear...interesting how braces work and how they are made- and even more interesting is HOW THEY KEEP US IN 'a lingment'!!!
Good luck --- xo

If Smoke had thrown me on purpose I might be slightly more intimidated to get back on...but it was purely an accident and scared her as much as it did me. I thought I would be nervous to get back on...but the other day I was out visiting the horses and as I talked with Smoke, I realized I'm not at all scared. I'll take it slower for awhile...my muscles need time to get re-conditioned, but I think Smoke will understand and be a little more careful. I keep watching the movies I have of me riding her...and I can almost imagine I'm back in the saddle. When you trusted each other before the accident, it doesn't take much to rebuild that trust. Levi had already informed me that he is going to use my brace to play football with his buddies!! We'll see what the buddies have to say about that! Ouch!
