Boots, Pictures & Deer

I spent last night with my friend Kristina and her family and today, Mom, me, Levi, Lydia and Kristina went to a boot shop in Ovid that was having a sale. Originally Kristina and I were going to get matching boots but in the end, we didn't. We got some great deals and even Mom got some boots! They didn't have Levi's size so he is getting them shipped. He got a cowboy hat and Lydia and I got new helmets. We had a lot of fun.
After the boot shop, we went to Mom's friend Carolyn's house. We had a great visit with her and she took the pictures of us in our boots (below) in her house.
We spent about two hours at her house, then we headed off to Nancy's where Lydia was getting two new bunnies...I think she named them Kenny and Nancy.
While Mom, Levi and Lydia were talking with Nancy, Kristina and I found our way to the piano. Kristina plays beautifully. We found some music and I sang while she played. We had fun.
After that, we went to Meijers where Mom got a glass water bottle, then on to TSC where I got a jacket with the gift card Seth got me for my birthday.

Sooooooo.....then as we were taking Kristina home at 10:30 pm, Mom suddenly starts screaming, slams on the brakes, I see something brown fly up in front of the windshield, then get flung into the seat in front of me....long story short...we hit a deer....the first accident of any kind I've ever been in. The deer passed on pretty quickly, but then we had to wait for a police officer to make the report. The passenger side headlight was hanging by one wire and the grill is half gone, but as far as we can see, that seems to be the only damage. We were all fine. Kristina's dad came and picked her up from there so we didn't have to drive all the way to her house with a broken headlight.

Below are some pictures of our day and of the goat kids.

It was a fun day. We all enjoyed it.
We're hoping the damage to the van is just the grill and headlight, not a bent frame or something worse. It's still driveable so that's good.
I'm glad you liked the pictures. That one of Levi is my favorite! He looks so much like his daddy, Reuben.

.now.on this side of the moon - it must have been Boot Day too... Sirena too got some great cow-girl boots, her old one's were so worn out she couldn't believe it when she put her new pair on...what a fit- don't tell her I told you but I think she sleeps w/them on---yikes.!!
Levi and Thomas are precious, I wish I could just hold them...
You know what your photos captured-- that golden dog really wanted to play w/someone- he/she even brought her toy to join in the fun- smart dog- but no-one wanted to play- in the next photo- you see a sad dog- :( -Sorry I volunteer at the animal shelter- and I think I relate to animals more than humans--- haha- they love us unconditionally.. One of these days I'm gonna have a little animal shelter- in our backyard---!! City permitting-
Take care and 'these boots were made for walking' happy trails to all of you boot girls...and guys!
Love Aunt Dona xoxox

Yeah, I have an old pair of boots too and I couldn't believe the difference when I tried the new ones on. I didn't sleep in them though!!
Nikki is a great dog. We gave him that toy a couple months ago and they are inseparable. As soon as you walk in the door, here comes Nikki with his toy. He does love to play. Levi was playing trains with Caleb on the kitchen floor and Nikki came and laid down between them....he didn't know Levi so he was protecting his boy.
Thanks, we're all loving our boots....and Levi is eagerly awaiting his to come in the mail. I'm going to wear mine tomorrow to work.
