Alaska Here We...Maybe Not

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Alaska for this year.
Dad took the RV in to get new brakes put on it earlier this week. Shortly after he got home from dropping it off, he got a phone call from the shop saying that a semi had "bumped" the RV and they wanted him to come in to do a police report. The damage was pretty bad and it will take a couple weeks to fix. We have decided to put off the trip until next year. We are planning on taking a few weekend trips this fall.
Here's some pictures of the damage.

Ok, that is not our RV! When Dad was on his way to look at the damage, Mom texted him and told him to send her pictures. This was the picture he sent her!
Now these are the real pictures!!

Everything happens for a reason and obviously we weren't meant to go on a trip this year.

Oh, dear. SO sorry about your change of plans. Hopefully the RV will be restored to its previous state. Hugs to all.

Oh, no! What a shame. I am sure you are disappointed but you are soooo right, things happen for a reason. We may not ever know the reason but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Your dad has quite the sense of humour, sending that first picture, hahaha!!! Hopefully it didn't shock your mom too much. But the real ones are still bad enough.

My heart sunk,,,yes I fell for the first photo- 'yep some bump' I thought. How did the semi bump your RV in the first place? Were you guys planning to drive to Alaska? How long were you going to be gone- and when were you planning to leave---boy Aunt Dona has lots of questions-

Thank you all for your sympathy. We are disappointed, but it is probably for the best.
Aunt Dona, the semi was coming around a corner and didn't see the RV. Yes, we were going to drive to Alaska. We were planning on being gone for a month to six weeks and we were going to leave next Saturday.
When, or if, we go next year, we might stretch it out to eight weeks.
