More Lambs

1/26/2014

We've had more lambs born in the last week or so. There's a couple sets of twins and one single. I got some cute pictures of them this afternoon.

I visited the horses and cows while I was out there and got some pictures of them too.

Do those horse blankets really keep the horses warm? I would be dressing them up in leg warmers as well. Do you use space heaters in the barn. Not sure how safe that would be- but boy is it cold for all the animal farm members.

Yes, they do keep the horses warm. God gave the animals a pretty good system of insulation when He created them, but sometimes on these really cold days they need some help! We check how warm the horses are by putting our hand under the blanket and wow!! They get pretty toasty under there. I've never thought about leg warmers! More than likely, they would get themselves all tangled up in them!
No, we don't use space heaters...to much risk of a fire. We will occasionally put up a heat lamp for the goats if we have babies or sick ones. Some of the goats have miniature horse blankets on right now and I think Belle has a sweatshirt on because she was shivering. I'll have to get some pictures of them in their coats.

I'm glad you enjoy looking at the pictures because I sure enjoy taking them! Not all my subjects like to have their pictures taken but I usually get them anyway!! I'm glad they bring back pleasant memories for you. We'll try to stay warm here in blustery Michigan while you bask in the New Mexican sun!!

What do you mean 'basking in the New Mexico sun!!!" We got SNOW AND IT'S EVEN CONSIDERED A BLIZZARD!!! Not much of a blizzard in comparison to what you guys get. LOL-- it is nice the ground is all covered with the snow- (the dogs love it especially Charlie girl) -the mountains have a lot of snow. Schools are on delay for 2 hours.....I'm off tomorrow- I could use your talent to write up my evaluation! I'll be doing it in the morning. Nice talking w/you...
